Mauricio Pochettino is expected to have a significant influence on Joao Felix's future, and Chelsea is allegedly considering extending his loan from Atletico Madrid.
The Portuguese star made a six-month loan move to Chelsea in January; the final agreement did not include a buy option. The Evening Standard reports that Chelsea is currently debating Felix's place in the team, and the view of incoming boss Pochettino will be crucial before making a decision. Although a formal agreement has not yet been reached, Pochettino is thought to be the favorite to succeed Graham Potter as Chelsea's manager. Felix may yet receive a permanent offer from the Blues, but another loan arrangement is also being considered before the summer transfer window.
According to reports, Atletico hesitates to lower their asking price of £88m for the star. The Evening Standard speculates that a payment of about £68 million could be sufficient to persuade the Spanish company to let Felix go.

Atletico probably would like a lump amount so that they could use the money to reinvest in strengthening their team. Chelsea is attempting to trim their overloaded squad and is still eager to make a cash-plus-player deal.
The Rojiblancos might potentially agree to a loan agreement to off-load Felix's £270,000 weekly salary and charge Chelsea a loan fee of roughly £16 million for an additional year.
Felix will probably continue to avoid Wanda Metropolitano as Diego Simeone is expected to retain his position as manager there for the upcoming season. The two are said to have had a falling out earlier in the current season.
